PADI Advanced Open Water Course

The PADI Adventures/Advanced Diving program with Essex School of Diving in Colchester, Essex.

Adventure Diver certificate ( 3 dives)

Advanced Open Water Diver certificate ( 5 dives)

This program allows you to complete either/or the Adventure Diver certificate and/or Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

If you complete any three Adventure dives from our list of our Specialty courses shown below, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification.

To gain your full PADI Advanced Open Water certification you would then need only to complete your Deep Diver and Underwater Navigation dives.

Before partaking in the PADI Advanced course

You will need to have completed the PADI Open Water course or Junior Open Water course.The minimum age for Advanced Open Water is 15 years old. For Junior Advanced Open Water the minimum age is 12 years old.

We include all PADI theory material, diving equipment (except where stated), air and certification. We do not include hire fees, site entry, travel costs, accommodation or equipment hire needed to complete course..

Advantages of Advanced Open Water Diver certificate


After completing your Open Water Qualification, the PADI Advanced Open Water course is the natural progression for a scuba diver to take to gain more experience, confidence and further your diving career.

Not only will you understand more about diving theory and equipment by completing the course, you will be allowed to dive to greater depths and explore more than allowed on an Open Water certificate.

You will feel more comfortable in the water and simply enjoy your diving more because you'll better understand and be more equipped to deal with the underwater environment. You will develop and tune your knowledge and diving skills under the watchful eye of one of our experienced Instructors.

Specialty and Adventure dives available from Essex School of Diving

You are required to complete a total of five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Diver and Underwater Navigator dives. Due to limitations in the UK, we can offer the following adventure dives to complete your Advance diving course without extra cost. Please note these dives do not entitle you to specialist certification.

Please note the following dives can also credited as part of your Advanced course as Adventure dives but may incur extra costs and tuition (i.e. orientation dives), extra manuals, specialist kit or specialist equipment hire.
