This privacy policy sets out how Essex School of Diving uses and protects any information that you give Essex School of Diving when you use this website or PADI documents.

Essex School of Diving is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website or PADI documents, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:
• Internal record keeping (PADI documents) retained for five years (completed courses only).
• We may use the information to improve our products and services.
• We may periodically send promotional email about new products, special offers or other information   which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
• From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We   may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail.
• We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests.

You may request details of personal information retained on our PADI course documents which we hold about you, under the Data Protection Act 1998. A fee of £3.00 per copy per item plus postage will be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please email or write to Essex School of Diving Ltd, 8 Sorrel Close, Colchester, Essex, CO4 5UL. Please enclose your details: Date of course, Full name, Address, contact number. We will then send you an invoice for the amount to be charged. Following payment of the invoice, we will send you the requested details. See (T & C).


If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

Retention of information
Information you give on PADI paperwork during your training course will be passed onto PADI for certification purposes and will be retained by us for a period of five years (completed open water courses only). Records for courses which have been started but have been subsequently terminated or not completed by the student are destroyed (unless we have been specifically asked in writing to retain) after 3 months from start date ( see T & C). Records for all other courses are only retained by us until certification has been awarded, after which all such records are destroyed,

We further reserve the right to use any information we retain for legal purposes or may be required to pass this information onto an authorised body/PADI or where required to do so by law or PADI Standards.
